As a result of a bug in the JPEG-rendering engine it is possible to craft a JPEG-file that, when viewed in a vulnerableapplication, creates a buffer overflow permitting it to execute code on the victims pc. The flaw affects Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Office XP, Office 2003, Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1, Project, Visio, Picture It and Digital Image Pro. Microsoft has released a patch to fix this bug. |
