the hacking-school source code
Posted by rhican - Friday November 17 @ 21:22
Cat: Net-ForceMost of you will have missed it, but a while ago, some -what I call- more senior members of the challengers community made a project of theirs public. At the time I didn't spend too much attention to it here, since it were competitors ;). However I did allow bb to mention it in a few news items ago, some of you might have discovered it. Anyways after a while, I believe they got a bit annoyed with how slow it was taking of, and decided to stop hosting it. Which was a shame because I was doing OK in the rankings :p, and because they had some rather good challenges.

What i liked most were the exploit challenges, which were hosted on a VM shell. I believe i was the only non admin that managed to solve all 4 in the time that it was online ;).

Now finally the interesting bit of this post, after it shut down they "dumped" the sourcecode of the website, and the linux install on their webspace. So i advice you to check it out, you hold all the answers so it could be a great way to learn more about linux/php. I don't know what is included in the vmware image, though.

check it out at www.hacking-school.org/geths.html

It was great fun while it lasted thanks relee,chrisi,bb,...

yes, the VMware image of the http://www.hacking-school.org site was released - but I must say, that I didn't included the exploit section of it - since that was a "User Mode Linux" (created by chrisi) which would have doubled the space of the download.

So if you want the UML portion of it for testing exploits - please have a chat with chrisi.

All the Best out there,

relee
